About

"Oh, those Greeks! They knew how to live: what is required for that is to stop courageously at the surface, the fold, the skin, to adore appearance, to believe in forms, tones, words - in the whole Olympus of appearance!"
 - F. Nietzsche, Olympus fanboy.

This is the portfolio blog for Roddy Macfarlane, a self-taught Lallans camera maestro.
He specializes in semi-candid portraiture.
He is 23, a future lecturer in [Lallans nonsense], and a good lad.

His work was recently featured in the The Granite Rock, a student newspaper in Aberdeen:

- A Bar Mitzvah near you.

(The title is a Mountain Goats wink.)

"Those Greeks were superficial - out of profundity! And is not this precisely what we are coming back to, we daredevils of the spirit who have climbed the highest and most dangerous peak of current thought and looked around from up there, looked down from up there? Are we not just in this respect - Greeks? Worshippers of shapes, tones, words? And therefore - artists?"
